St. Cuthbert's Catholic High School

Head teacher’s Welcome – Mrs C Davison

To develop both intelligence and character is I believe the true goal of education.

Catholic Education contributes to the discovery of life’s meaning and elicits new hopes for today and the future.

Our excellent staff promote our mission of ‘Faith, Leadership and Learning’ and offer tremendous opportunities which our students grasp wholeheartedly.  The desire to participate in leadership is strong.

We recently celebrated Ofsted gradings of outstanding in every category.  We are rated in the top 5% of outstanding schools in the UK in the DfE Performance Tables for academic outcomes for students.

In terms of outstanding achievements we are a Champion School for the National Community Service (NCS) and an Accredited School for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.  We have Gold standard for both Healthy School and Eco School as well as a Sport Leader and International School Award recognition.  Our Reece engineers were all successful in acquiring the first university of their choice.

Our students are prepared through the experiences they are offered both inside and outside of the classroom to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world with confidence.  I believe they are exceptional – they are thoughtful, compassionate and caring with volunteering and service at the heart of our leadership opportunities.  Extra-Curricular learning engages our students with challenging concepts and ideas, helping them to be creative making full use of their gifts.

We focus on the development of character and in our experience achievement follows naturally.  In life it is not what happens to you it is how you deal with it that matters and helps you grow.  I want confident students with a strong moral compass who grow into life-long learners ready to forge their own future making the most of every opportunity with an authentic faith, leaving this earth somehow better than we found it!

We look forward to meeting you at some time in the near future.
