Sports

Participation, good health and fun are at the heart of sport at St Cuthbert’s. We aim to offer something for everyone and to help our students develop healthy lifestyles and a love of sport that will last well beyond school.

Our new facilities, including a full size sports hall, purpose built gym, climbing wall and redeveloped pitches, will help provide an ever-increasing range of options for our students.

Boys can take part in the following sports as part of the enrichment programme provided by the school: football, rugby, athletics, hockey, cross country, gym work, climbing, cricket, basketball, weightlifting, golf, tennis, volleyball, handball, indoor tennis, climbing,  ultimate Frisbee, badminton, fit club and dodgeball.  Students also enjoy taking part in Sports Leaders courses gaining leadership skills and having fun in the process.

Competitive sporting opportunities are important for many of our students and fixtures are offered in a range of sports including: football, rugby, cross country, athletics, cricket, tennis, basketball and swimming.  We have a long history of local and national success in both team and individual sports.

We aim to develop further by running Skiing trips and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, giving students additional opportunities to flourish.

Details of recent sporting successes and achievements can be found in our latest news section and on the news reel.
